In Jodhpur, we work with hundreds of refugee families who have fled religious extremism in Pakistan only to meet further challenges in India. Today, the needs of this impoverished community have become more urgent than ever as they face the threat of COVID-19. These day due to lockdown laborers have lost all ability to earn income for their families and for those who are migrant workers, are far from any social support.
Our work is to spread awareness about COVID-19, develop home study materials, sew and distribute masks to elderly people, hospital patients and healthcare workers, develop and distribute hand sanitizers, distribute soaps and vitamins, develop hand-washing units, engage a medical doctor and provide medicines to this high-need population. We are developing tutorials and test materials that will be delivered weekly to them on a pen drive. We are also providing disinfecting materials and soaps
We have supported the sewing of 1500 masks that have been distributed to nearby hospitals and drug stores. We are donating hand sanitizers, soap, face masks, gloves as well as daily meals for students and their families.
