Dear Friends and Supporters of Splash,
In our previous update, we shared how our work was continuing to pivot in response to COVID-19 in Addis Ababa. Throughout the preceding months, schools in Ethiopia have welcomed students back in stages, with higher level grades opening first. As of January 2021, all government schools have reopened. Pictured above are students and Splash Hygiene club members, distancing and washing hands.
In addition to our infrastructure work, Splash's Behavior Change program has resumed, which paused and pivoted to digital for a majority of 2020, given safety and social distancing measures. Throughout this time, and as students have been returning to the classroom, our WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) intervention has been completed at 31 sites within our Group 2 phase, with behavior change activities following shortly.
While the challenges we all faced in 2020, and continue to face in 2021, have changed and shifted how we do work, it has not changed our unwavering dedication to best serving all of our stakeholders and supporters - students, staff, partners, and you.
We are tremendously appreciative of the ways you continue to support our mission and vision. We look forward to providing more updates in the future and we hope you stay involved with all we are up to.
With gratitude,
Team Splash
