Pakistan is deadly affected during monsoon seasons, people suffer lot during rain emergencies. Due to climate change recent monsoon season in Sindh August 2022, heavy rains destroyed 1000s of villages in Sindh. 1000s people lost their crops, houses, cattle & other livelihood resources. During these days rapid response is required to intervene in food supply, temporary shelters, NFIs so that NDF needs to establish the Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency in Pakistan to help at urgent base
Pakistani two provinces Sindh & Balouchistan have been battered by heavy rainfall in recent days August 2022 which inundated towns and cities across the region and destroyed infrastructure and standing crops. Meanwhile, hundreds of people were left stranded without tents under the open sky by the torrential rains following the large-scale destruction. Pakistan needs attention to prevent from these emergencies. We mostly witness disaster emergencies like riverine or flash flood, fire, storms.
This project will establish Rain Emergency Pool Fund which will be for affected families of Pakistan to respond in Ready/Dry Food, Tents, Drinking Water & other needed NFIs (Mosquito Nets, Hygiene Kit). This will be on urgent base & rapid response. This practice will be proved a best practice in the area, other organizations will also adopt same practice to respond quickly. it will be on rapid but will be connected with general response especially current floods 2022.
NDF has established Rain Emergency Pool Fund, which will bring long lasting impact that the good will be adopted by other organizations too, to respond quickly. In this way, we will not wait for response from Government, International NGOs, locally it will be managed then will be connected with expanded Response by Government & International Organizations. The Pool fund will help in all phases like Rescue, Relief & Rehabilitation. The Fund will provide, food, shelter, protection, WASH & others
