Help Women Impacted by Conflict Access Education

Summary

Around the world, 82.4 million individuals, mostly women and children, have been forced to be displaced. Under these fragile and conflict affected situations, only 13% of females are enrolled in higher education. This project will work towards raising funds to help women under these circumstances continue their higher education.

Challenge

By 2020 there were 82.4 million displaced individuals due to conflict related situations. In 2022 this number has raised 6.5 million due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Most of these forcibly-displaced individuals are women and children who are the most vulnerable to gender based violence and women are more unlikely to continue their education.

Solution

This project will aid these women affected by conflict to continue their higher education, by providing them with scholarships. All the funds raised will go towards supporting these women to fulfill their dreams of pursuing a career.

Long-Term Impact

The project will help forcibly-displaced women to continue their education which they most likely had to abruptly stop due to conflict-related situations in their country. By continuing their studies not only is Asherah and every donor working towards bringing a change in opportunities for women in the future generations, but also towards helping them fulfill their goals.
