Summary

The aim of collecting one dollar is to minimize sufferings of flood affected 1,161,392 men, women and children of those families who lost their 282,533 houses either fully or partially and living in self made tents on road sides in district Mirpurkhas of Sindh province of Pakistan. Your 1 dollar donation will make enable us to respond their urgent humanitarian emergency needs like cooked/dry food items, clean drinking water, hygiene/sanitary items, mosquito nets, temporary shelter/latrine.

Challenge

Mirpurkhas district is one of the districts in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. According to 2017 census, district has a population of 1,504,440, of which 776,146 are males and 728,071 females. The rural population is 1,070,359 (71.15%) and urban 434,081 (28.85%). 2022 flood water has affected about 1,161,392 people, and many of the buildings built in the afflicted regions are mud houses or bamboo houses. The area's stagnant water is causing major health concerns among children and women.

Solution

ARTS Foundation under GlobalGiving with generous support of donors (either individual or corporate) has proposed to response (emergency relief program) will make special efforts to be inclusive in its approach and give priority to the excluded communities. Priority will be given to the most vulnerable sections of the affected people such as the marginalized and excluded communities, women headed households, people with disabilities and children to provide them emergency assistance in tents.
