Mbwei Nature Forest is facing huge challenge of destruction where 60% of the Forest has been burnt down by human activities clearing farms for farming.The project is implemented to plant 20,000 trees to restore biodiversity and restoration of 6 water sources and planting fruits trees for food production.
Mbwei Nature Forest has been affected by human activities in which about 60% of the forest has been burnt down, leading to destruction of water streams and water sources, reduction of food production by low rates of rainfalls supply to the Mbwei Ward villages, lost biodiversity and high climatic change.
The project is dedicated to planting 20,000 trees in Mbwei Nature Forest to restore nature and planting fruits trees such as avocado,Mango for 6,200 local community members and 4 schools available in Mbwei Ward.Planting best water retaining plants to restore 6 water sources to feed 6,200 local community members and 4 schools to ensure food accessibility and creating sustainability community.
Long term impacts of the project including; Planting of 20,000 trees to restore Mbwei Nature Forest and restore natural biodiversity. Sustainable water access to local community by restoration of 6 water sources in Mbwei Nature Forest. Education and training programs to schools and local entities ensuring environment conservation programs.
