Dear Partners,
The future of the Cross River Gorilla remains uncertain, but together we can change that story. With fewer than 300 individuals left in the wild, every effort to protect this critically endangered species matters. Through Empower Future Initiative's community-led conservation project, we are working to safeguard gorilla habitat in the Afi-Mbe-Okwangwo landscape of Nigeria while empowering local communities to become active conservation partners.
Our approach focuses on biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, habitat preservation, environmental education, and sustainable livelihoods. By reducing dependence on forest exploitation, families can earn income without contributing to deforestation or habitat destruction.
Each donation helps train community forest guards, support conservation awareness campaigns, and strengthen efforts to monitor and protect gorilla populations. These forests are not only home to one of the world's rarest primates but also serve as critical carbon sinks that help combat climate change.
Your support can help prevent extinction and preserve one of Africa's greatest natural treasures. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps secure a future where wildlife and local communities thrive together.
Thank you for standing with us to protect the Cross River Gorilla and Nigeria's precious rainforest ecosystem.
