Gift of the Givers relief intervention in Ukraine is focused on providing emergency relief items to orphans, elderly, families and individuals. We have mobilized volunteers within Ukraine thus broadening our reach within "hot spots". Our immediate approach is a resourceful one given that many areas are no entry zones, and this includes the identifying of specific needs, locating shops & suppliers, providing funding, & immediate delivery of aid from within.
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, numerous families have been displaced and are in dire need of emergency relief aid. Many find themselves trapped in hot spots and are vulnerable to harsh living conditions. Both medical and non-medical support is of utmost importance, as well as the transport and fuel needed to deliver the aid urgently needed.
Gift of the Givers is responding by facilitating the procurement & delivery of medical supplies to frontline hospitals, as well as food, water, hygiene & other essential items to families & individuals. Through the assistance of our Ukrainian volunteers, who have been remotely trained on our disaster response methods, we are expanding our reach to within no entry zones and hot spot. Our current response is primarily focused on attending to the immediate needs of the affected individuals and facilities. Relief aid will ensure that the basic needs, i.e.; food, health, sanitation, etc. of the people will be provided thus ensuring the preservation of life. The situation is of a volatile nature, therefore, further assessments will be undertaken during the course of our intervention in order to determine the areas of need for long-term support, and what will be required thereof.
