Summary

The coronavirus pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on our finances. Though it is hard to predict how far-reaching the consequences will be, this will affect our ability to continue all of our work and to help animals in need. However with Covid-19 undeniably impacting captive facilities, demand for our work to help end animal suffering is only increasing. We are doing everything we can to mitigate the impact on the animals and communities we help, but need your help now.

Challenge

Due to the unprecedented impact of Covid-19 Wild Welfare's work is needed now more than ever to continue our critical, frontline programmes to end the suffering of captive wild animals. Sadly animals are often amongst the first to feel the impact of global uncertainty. As zoos continue to suffer financial downturns, immediate relief and longer term support is urgently needed, particularly for those facilities that already experience poor standards. This is where we can help.

Solution

We've adapted our programmes to focus on developing esssential welfare support designed to instigate positive, long-term changes that can be delivered directly or by remote training. We are translating all our 25+ species-specific animal care manuals in over seven languages and developing a unique online Animal Welfare E-learning programme. We are also providing critical daily support services to our partners to help with the immediate and long-term impact this pandemic will have on animal care.

Long-Term Impact

We are the only charity focused solely on this international work with a team that has unique expertise in exotic animal welfare, providing training and support to communities that helps end animal suffering through a compassionate, collaborative approach. We remain in constant communication with the zoos we have partnered with in over ten different countries worldwide and are offering daily support to the worried communities looking after these animals under such uncertain circumstances.
