Our long-term vision is to build a comprehensive techno-park based on this educational platform. The Center operates as an independent institution with a four-year college-level program combining liberal arts education with intensive practical training in partner R&D organizations. This approach results in graduates whose theoretical background is comparable to Bachelor-level students of Armenian universities, while also providing them with real work experience equivalent to one year in a modern IT or high-tech company. Unlike traditional academic programs, our model focuses on preparing students directly for professional careers in high-tech industries. Modern high-tech fields demand continuous self-education due to rapidly changing technologies and emerging markets. The boundary between "study" and "work" has essentially disappeared; today's professional path requires a lifelong combination of learning and doing. As a result, traditional education (focused only on theory) and traditional career models (focused only on work) no longer satisfy the needs of the 21st century. Our vision for a contemporary high-tech ecosystem is an integration of Research, Production, and Education. Any organization lacking one of these components becomes less competitive compared to those that innovate, produce, and train their specialists simultaneously. Baghakats Educational Center aims to build such an integrated model in partnership with IT and engineering organizations in the region. The program is designed to expand to rural areas and support the modernization of local industries in developing regions. The liberal arts component of our curriculum follows the classical concept of educating a "free citizen," providing students with a broad understanding of the world, civilization, the universe, and the economy. This knowledge helps them identify their personal mission for the next decade and develop the skills needed to pursue it. The program is based on real-life, project-based learning, using challenges and tasks drawn from regional, national, and global issues rather than artificial academic exercises. Examples of student projects include: Forest restoration and green industry, in cooperation with the Armenian Forestry Committee; material reuse; development of efficient ovens; biodegradable material research; responsible forest use. Ancient Armenian literature and classical Armenian studies, development of fonts, spell-checkers, translation tools; localization of major open-source software (Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice, XFCE4, GIMP, Inkscape). Research on ancient musical notation and dance notation systems, and the creation of software tools for ethnographic and musicological studies with support from leading Armenian researchers. Environmental monitoring, creation of measurement kits for air, water, soil, and electromagnetic pollution; conducting field measurements; public awareness initiatives. Information management and cybersecurity research, development of modern standards for state institutions; transition to digital workflows in government structures. Macroeconomic and microeconomic studies, development of legislative recommendations that support innovation, startups, family businesses, and SMEs. Pedagogical and epistemological research, development of new school programs; improvement and extension of the Armath engineering curriculum with radio-frequency, electronics, mechatronics, and biochemical components. Our goal in pedagogy and epistemology is to rethink the foundations of personal development in the high-tech era. Human knowledge has moved from descriptive science (before the 14th century), to analytical science (Renaissance to mid-20th century), and today to synthetic science-synthetic materials, synthetic life forms, synthetic languages. At the same time, the world's population has grown from below one billion to over seven billion, creating unprecedented social and technological pressures. In such transitional periods, predicting future outcomes is less effective than shaping the future through deliberate investment. Today's youth experience information overload from an early age and struggle to find meaning outside virtual spaces. Families cannot solve this alone; a modern educational system must support them. Baghakats Educational Center aims to contribute to this transformation by providing expertise, developing new educational formats, and collaborating with government and industry stakeholders. Our consortium has also created the Armath engineering education program and is working on establishing an Academic Research Hub for advanced scientific development. In the mid-term perspective, the Baghakats Educational Center will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the region.
