This month, we began an essential stage of our campaign: the book curation process.
Guided by Vaga Lume’s commitment to bibliodiversity and our proven methodology, our team is carefully selecting titles that expand horizons and reflect a rich diversity of stories, voices, and cultures. Each book is chosen with special attention to early childhood engagement, representation, critical thinking, and the power to broaden readers’ worldviews.
At the same time, we seek to strengthen the local identities of rural, riverside (ribeirinha), Indigenous, and other Amazonian communities, while connecting children and youth with different perspectives and realities from around the world.
Thanks to the funds raised so far, we have been able to launch this important phase, ensuring the care and quality needed to build this year’s library collections.
We remain fully mobilized to reach our fundraising goal. The next donations will support the upcoming stage: shipping 600 books to three communities in Belém and Benevides, in the state of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon.
Every contribution helps make this journey possible.
Support our campaign today and help bring more books, stories, and opportunities to children and teenagers in the Amazon.
Donate now and be part of this movement!
