In 2024, Bangladesh faced one of the most devastating floods in decades, affecting over 5 million people across various regions. In response,JAAGO Foundation and its youth wing, Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD), launched a comprehensive three-phase relief effort: rescue, relief, and rehabilitation to stand by the flood-affected communities.
Rescue Phase: As floodwaters surged, thousands were trapped in their homes. Our volunteers jumped into action, rescuing over 2,000 individuals from the hardest-hit areas. Equipped with boats and ropes, these courageous volunteers navigated dangerous waters to ensure the safety of the vulnerable, including the elderly and children.
Relief Phase: Following the rescues, the immediate focus shifted to providing essential supplies to the displaced. With the generous support of donors like you, our volunteers distributed relief bags containing staples such as rice, lentils, potatoes, salt, puffed rice, jaggery, saline, and water purification tablets to 16,900 individuals. Operating across 10 districts and 32 upazilas, over 450 volunteers worked tirelessly to reach even the most remote areas, ensuring access to food, clean water, and basic hygiene supplies.
Rehabilitation Phase: Recognizing that recovery extends beyond immediate relief, JAAGO initiated efforts to restore livelihoods and rebuild communities. This phase focused on providing resources and support to help flood-affected families regain stability and rebuild their lives.
These lifesaving initiatives were only possible because of the courage of our incredible volunteers and the heartfelt generosity of compassionate individuals like you.
Thank you for stepping forward and standing with those in need. Your contributions enabled immediate action, delivering relief and restoring dignity to countless lives.
On behalf of the flood-affected families, we offer our deepest gratitude. Together, we’ve proven that through unity and kindness, even the greatest challenges can be overcome.
Forever Grateful,
JAAGO Foundation
