As we reach the midpoint of 2024, we're excited to share the progress of Grow Ghana’s IT workshops, new partnerships, and other exciting activities.
We'll also discuss how you can support our latest initiatives. In early May, we formed a new partnership with a STEM organization based in the US (NextGen STEM) to provide science projects and seminars virtually to our students. We've already had our first session, where students engaged in hands-on activities and demonstrated their skills.
Two months ago, we partnered with St. Nicholas Mission School, which offers free education to around 220 underprivileged children. Through this partnership, we will conduct monthly ICT workshops to equip them with essential digital and coding skills.
We recently concluded our IT workshop with the 2023/24-year group, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the upcoming Graduation Day in two weeks. The students have shown significant improvement in their digital skills, including writing formal letters in Word, creating small inventory and sales sheets, and even developing games using Scratch programming. Beyond IT skills, they enjoyed soft skills sessions and engaging warm-up games
The Grow Ghana Cup, our annual football match, is one of the most anticipated end-of-academic-year activities for our students. This year, three schools participated, each represented by boys’ and girls’ teams. In the end, both the boys’ and girls’ teams from Gomoa Dampase Model School emerged victorious.
Thank you for your support of Grow Ghana as we continue to empower children for the digital future!
