Dear Donors,
Escaping trafficking can bring a girl out of exploitation, but it does not automatically give her a safe future.
What happens after rescue matters.
A girl may return home without money, without a job and after months or years away from school. Some return to families already struggling financially. Others face stigma or have nowhere safe to begin again.
Without education or a way to earn an income, starting a new life can be difficult.
This is the reason behind Help Rescued Benue Girls Escape Sex Work Forever.
Recent cases in Benue show that trafficking remains a serious concern. In June 2026, authorities reported a case involving two girls who had escaped from traffickers in Burkina Faso. A later investigation documented how poverty, displacement and financial hardship are being used to deceive girls and young women with promises of jobs and better opportunities.
Rescue must therefore be followed by practical support.
Our microproject has selected a small goal: help 10 rescued girls build a life away from exploitation and reduce their risk of being trafficked again.
The project has received its first donation toward our funding goal. To our first donor, thank you for believing that a girl deserves more than simply being rescued. She deserves the chance to start again.
As more funds are raised, girls who are able and willing to return to school will receive educational support. Those who prefer to learn a trade will be supported with vocational training such as tailoring or hairdressing and, where funding allows, the basic equipment needed to begin earning an income.
We also plan to provide mentoring and follow-up as participants move forward with school, training or work.
Our goal is not to decide what these girls should become. It is to give each participant choices that can help her earn safely and build a future on her own terms.
We thank our donor, partners, volunteers, anti-trafficking workers and everyone supporting survivors as they begin again.
If this project speaks to you, please share it with friends and family or on social media. You can also become an individual fundraiser on this project and invite your own community to help us reach these 10 girls.
Being rescued can end one chapter. Having a safe way to earn, learn and live can help a girl write the next one herself.
With gratitude,

Start a FundraiserEvery microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Rescue Benue Girls from Human Trafficking. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.
