A Hungry Child Needs Help Today

A child with severe malnutrition

Dear Donors,

Thank you for caring about children affected by conflict and displacement in northern Nigeria.

For a young child, going without enough food can quickly become a serious health problem.

Many families forced from their homes have lost access to farms, jobs and regular sources of income. Some now live in temporary shelters, displacement camps or host communities where food can be difficult to find.

Children are the ones who suffer most when there is not enough to eat.

A child who is malnourished may become weak, lose weight, fall sick more easily and struggle to grow as expected.

This project will support 100 malnourished children with nutritious food, nutrition screening, medical checks, treatment and growth monitoring.

Children with severe acute malnutrition or medical complications will be referred to health facilities for further care.

Parents and caregivers will also receive guidance on feeding children, hygiene and recognising signs of malnutrition.

A child should not have to become seriously ill before receiving the food and care they need.

Thank you for helping us stand with children whose families are already facing the hardship of crisis and displacement.

With gratitude,
Sipho D. Mfanekiso
