Help Save 100 Nigerian Children from Malnutrition

Behind Every Case of Malnutrition Is a Child

By Sipho D. Mfanekiso | Project leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for remembering children living through crisis and displacement in northern Nigeria.

Malnutrition is sometimes described as a statistic.

But behind every case is a child.

A child who may be too weak to play.

A child whose body is not getting enough nutrients to grow properly.

A child who may become seriously ill because their body is already struggling.

Conflict and displacement have made it harder for many families to provide regular nutritious meals. Parents who have lost their homes and income may have very few options when food becomes scarce.

This project will identify and support 100 malnourished children.

Each child will receive nutrition screening and medical checks, followed by nutritious food and treatment based on their needs. Their weight and growth will also be monitored.

Children with severe malnutrition, infections or other medical problems will be referred to health facilities for further care.

We will also speak with parents and caregivers about child feeding, hygiene and the signs that a child may be becoming malnourished.

Early care can give a vulnerable child a better chance to recover and grow.

Thank you for helping us reach children who need food and medical attention during a very difficult time.

With gratitude,
Sipho D. Mfanekiso
