Dear Friends,
Thank you again for your donation, which has allowed one girl the chance to attend school. The scholarships have now been awarded. The girl who received this scholarship is called Nazanin and she is 11 years old and in 5th grade at a private school in Herat Province. Her father has a job as a painter but without this scholarship there would be no way for her family to afford to send her to school. You can see Nazanin in the photographs above along with other scholarship students.
The staff person who gave out the awards said, “the students who receive scholarships are all from poor families. Many have lost one or both parents and need to do some work part time to help their families. When they heard they had been given a scholarship they were so happy they became teary eyed. This is what one student said, “I have two sisters, my father is a drug addict and my mother goes to a neighbor to do washing and cleaning. I was not able to pay for tuition or stationary. Thank you for this great opportunity; it has changed my life.”
Thank you again for your generous donation; your donation has helped to change the course of Nazanin’s life.
