Program Update: English Course for Children

By mufid | Teacher at Punthuk Sewu

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support in the development of the English course program for children at Punthuk Sewu Learning Center. Your contribution has played a meaningful role in sustaining and strengthening this initiative.

To date, the program has received financial support amounting to USD 20.3. While modest in scale, this contribution carries significant value for our learning activities. It directly supports the continuity of English language classes, which are designed to improve students’ basic communication skills, build confidence, and introduce them to global learning opportunities.

The English course program is particularly important for children in rural areas, where access to quality language education remains limited. Many students do not have exposure to structured English learning outside of school, and resources such as textbooks, dictionaries, and interactive learning tools are often unavailable. Through this program, we aim to fill that gap by providing a supportive and engaging learning environment facilitated by volunteer educators.

The support received contributes to the provision of basic learning materials, helps maintain regular class sessions, and enables us to gradually improve the quality of instruction. More importantly, it allows us to sustain a consistent learning space where children can develop not only language skills, but also confidence, discipline, and motivation.

Moving forward, we aim to expand and strengthen this program by increasing the frequency of classes, improving learning materials, and providing additional teaching support—particularly for older students with more advanced learning needs.

Once again, we deeply appreciate your support. Your contribution is not only helping children learn a new language, but also opening pathways to broader opportunities and a more hopeful future.
