86 year old kanakamma story is one of resilience, rehabilitation and faith. Widowed at an young age kanakamma spent her youth working as a farm labourer and domestic worker. Over time, with no family of her own and age taking a toll on her body, her situation was getting terrible.
Our staff found out about kanakmma, helped her gradually regain her vitality and mobility.
She said “ I was living in great poverty without even clothes to wear. I was constantly sick always in pain. My parents too died early, leaving me with a debt to repay. My life was constant struggle. By the grace of God and the dedicated staff that looks after us, I have everything I need now.This place makes me happy”.
She was provided with a walking stick, which she is now comfortably able to move about with. Her positivity and faith are are a source of inspiration to all the residents and care givers. Today she is living free of burdens, pain and discomfort. She is always thanking her donors and praying for them.
