Dear Donor,
The project was initiated to support vulnerable families living in slum communities in Goa who face unsafe living conditions during the monsoon season. Heavy rains, flooding and leaking roofs expose children and families to cold weather, sickness, contaminated water and the risk of displacement. The project aimed to support 100 underprivileged families by providing tarpaulin sheets to protect their roofs and improve their living conditions during heavy rains.
Families living in fragile shelters often struggle to keep their homes dry and safe during the monsoon. Children are particularly vulnerable to illness, poor hygiene, hunger and exposure to harsh weather. The project sought to address these immediate risks by helping families protect their homes from rainwater. The project was designed to provide tarpaulin sheets to vulnerable families as an immediate form of monsoon relief. This support was intended to help protect homes from heavy rain, reduce exposure to harsh weather and provide children with safer living conditions.
The project highlighted the continuing need for emergency assistance among families living in unsafe shelters during the monsoon. Access to basic shelter protection, food, clothing and blankets remains important for helping vulnerable children and families cope with difficult weather conditions. Continued support for monsoon relief initiatives can help vulnerable families access essential supplies and improve their safety and living conditions during periods of heavy rainfall.
With Gratitude
