Teachers and parents took concrete steps—in line with Zahana’s recommendations—to ensure the school break was truly productive, paving the way for a fun-filled start to the new school year. Everything kicked off in high spirits.
Thanks to initiatives led by the parent associations and the teaching staff, the schools' interior and exterior walls were painted during the holidays. At the same time, Zahana provided the necessary tools and materials for woodwork, enabling parents to build new desks and benches for our classrooms.
This reinforces Zahana’s choice for a school that does not merely teach reading, writing, and arithmetic. It represents a “school of life” where students engage in ongoing learning rooted in the reality of daily life in a rural setting. Vegetable gardening, small-scale animal husbandry, soap-making, or making improved stoves and bio-charcoal are an integral part of our curriculum in the students’ weekly activities.
