Dear Red Siskin Friends,
With these photos, we celebrate the successful completion of our fifth breeding season. All eleven red siskin chicks hatched this year have now graduated from the enclosures where they were hatched!
A new chapter begins for these young red siskins as they enter flight school, where they start strengthening their wings, exploring their surroundings, and becoming familiar with plants and an environment that more closely resembles their natural habitat.
This breeding season brought many challenges, coinciding with the prolonged power outages experienced across Venezuela. Nevertheless, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our Red Siskin Conservation Center team, we successfully completed the season, taking another hopeful step toward securing the future of this species.
Would you like to help support these young red siskins? Your donation can help us care for them as they grow and prepare for the next stage of their lives.
Let’s continue working together to ensure a long future for the red siskin.
With gratitude,
Bárbara Santana,
RSI Communications Analyst.
