First Milestone SMASHED!!

By Jamie Fitzpatrick | Volunteer

Dear Husky Rescue Ireland Followers & Donators,

We are astonished at how much you have supported us in the last year with our Forever Home Appeal. It truly has helped us to keep doing what we love and that's saving Husky & Akita lives !

As you will know current restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic have been lifted here in Ireland. With this in mind more people are returning to the office. Unfortunately this can and is currently leading to a rise in surrenders coming into our centre. We're at full capacity with a high volume of doggies currently in foster homes. Which makes this fundraiser even more important to help us have a secure space for many years to come.

Now to the main point of this update, we have SMASHED our first milestone and that was to have €18k raised.Thats a massive €6k more since our last update. But wait, we're already on our way to our next milestone of €40k! As I type, we have raised so far a massive €20,029.00 which is AMAZING.

Can we get to the €40k mark before our next update, who knows. What we do know is that we couldn't do it without your continued support and generosity. It really does mean a lot to us.

A little bit more about us;

We're a small team of 8 Volunteers who deal with the admin side of the rescue, but then we have a huge number of 65 plus volunteers who help with a range of items such as support at the centre, remote support with fundraising, or even doing transport when they can.

On average we save anywhere from 150 - 250 doggies a year. You may ask what that involves for the doggie, well that includes making sure the doggie has a full vet work up, all their boosters and shots, socialisation training, Lead training, some basic command training and anything else we feel will support the doggie in finding their forever home.

But then, you may ask what does that involve at the centre, well that involves 4 rotations minimum of all dogs throughout the day, walking the dogs when we have extra support, cleaning out the pens to a high standard, dealing with any maintenance issues, cleaning and maintaining all outdoor areas of the centre, doing home checks, meet and greets with potential new owners all to name but a few.

Until our next update all we ask is if you could spare the price of a coffee a month or even have 2 minutes to share our project on your socials it would mean the world to us!

Here's hoping our next update we’ll be telling you that we smashed our next milestone !

Yours Sincerely,

HRI Doggies & Team.
