A maternity unit to save 2,300 lives in Burundi

This project aims at building a maternity unit to save 2,300 lives in Burundi.

Building activities of our maternity unit are going well. We are happy about the progress we have made since we start this project. The community we serve is impatiently waiting for the opening ceremony of this unit because they have to travel many miles to reach the nearest hospital. It is nice to see how the community we serve, local authorities, religious leaders and community leaders are supportive and contribute to the progress of our work. The Ministry of public health and AIDS control in Burundi is encouraging us to go ahead with our work and provide us with any support we need.

With your support, we have been able to:

• Cover the maternity unit with sheets iron, 
• Install doors and windows;
• Paving the interior
• Perform plastering and painting;

We are looking forward to:

• Putting ceiling;
• Making electrical and evacuation installations;
• Putting floor tiles and other interior work;
• Purchasing equipment for this unit
