The stark reality of maternal mortality in Burundi remains a pressing issue, particularly in underserved areas. Countless women continue to face the risk of preventable deaths during pregnancy and childbirth. The Village Microclinic, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Burundi's marginalized communities, is working tirelessly to address this challenge.
We are thrilled to share that our flagship project, the Rukundo Medical Polyclinic, is now operational. This state-of-the-art maternity unit, located in Bujumbura's peri-urban areas, is equipped with some essential medical equipment to provide comprehensive maternal and child healthcare services. We are in a dire need of the following equipment to be fully operational:
The Rukundo Medical Polyclinic is more than just a building; it is a beacon of hope for the community we serve. By providing accessible, high-quality healthcare, we are empowering women and families to build a brighter future. With the successful completion of construction and the installation of some essential medical equipment, we have made significant strides towards our goal of saving 2,300 lives in Burundi. Our dedicated healthcare team is now providing essential services, including Prenatal Care, Childbirth Services, and Postnatal Care.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support and are happy that you have chosen to be on our side to save lives in underserved communities of Burundi. Together, we are strong and can have great positive impact on lives of countless number of women and children in Burundi.
With gratitude,
