We extend our deep gratitude for your partnership, which is enabling The Village Microclinic to provide essential, life-saving care at the Rukundo Medical Polyclinic. This past trimester marked a significant step toward fully equipping the maternity unit with the successful acquisition and installation of two high-priority items: the ultrasound machine and the radiant warmer. These additions have immediately improved our capacity for diagnostics and critical neonatal care. Furthermore, the newly launched Family Planning and HIV/AIDS care programs are already demonstrating strong impact, having served over 350 women and successfully integrating preventative health into our maternal care model.
The direct impact of these efforts is now measurable in the community. Since the Polyclinic’s launch, we have supported 278 safe deliveries, a number we expect to grow while complications decrease. Beyond the clinic walls, we initiated a new Community Health Worker (CHW) training module focused on encouraging early and consistent prenatal consultations, helping us reach vulnerable mothers who might otherwise deliver at home. This expansion of services showcases our commitment not just to treatment, but to comprehensive health integration and community outreach.
While we celebrate this momentum, the final stage of equipping the unit remains crucial to maximizing our life-saving potential and minimizing infection risks. Our most pressing needs now revolve around neonatal life support and clinical sterilization, specifically requiring four neonatal incubators, one phototherapy lamp, one resuscitation table, two washing machines, and one sterilizer poupinel. Your continued contributions are the cornerstone of this mission, and we are profoundly grateful for your belief in our shared vision for a healthier future for women and children in Burundi.
With deep appreciation,
The Finance and Administration Director
