We are deeply grateful for your continued support, which has already enabled 328 safe deliveries and reached over 425 women through our integrated health programs. Following the successful installation of our ultrasound and neonatal equipment, we have made significant strides in the construction of our maternity unit's extension. This new Operating Room is a critical milestone that will allow us to perform life-saving emergency C-sections on-site, providing a vital safety net for mothers who previously faced high-risk transfers to distant hospitals.
The physical structure is now nearly complete, with the interior tiling currently underway to ensure a high-standard, sterile environment. This progress, supported by the ongoing efforts of our Community Health Workers to increase prenatal consultations, brings us to the final and most specialized stage of the project. As the walls and floors are finished, our focus is shifting entirely to the equipment phase, ensuring the space is fully functional and ready to save lives.
To bring this surgical wing into immediate operation, we are now seeking to secure the essential medical tools required for surgery and neonatal care. Our immediate priorities include an anesthesia machine, operating table, and surgical lighting, alongside the four neonatal incubators and sterilization equipment needed to minimize infection risks. Your partnership remains the cornerstone of this mission, transforming a construction site into a fully equipped sanctuary for mothers and children in Burundi.
With deep appreciation,
The Finance and Administration Director
