Dear reader,
We hope this message reaches you well. We trust Palestine has been on your mind and prayers in the last few weeks and we thank you for that. Having people reach out to us in solidarity, or just in general knowing people are boycotting and demonstrating and demanding a just approach from their representatives is something hopeful for us.
Karama's approach has been evolving in the last two years; after COVID-19 and the changing local opportunities and challenges. While our heart lies with the young generation of Palestinians growing up in hardship, there has been more focus on women, entrepreneurship, cash-for-work activities, and emergency distributions of food and medicine. You might have noticed that in any communication coming from Karama in the past time.
To reflect these changing priorities that our small team is working on, we will temporarily close this fundraising page. All your donations have been so valuable in keeping Karama open, organizing summer camps, distributing packages, and organizing activities in the schools and around the holidays.
We all pray for better days and know the children of the world deserve better.
For now, you are all invited to stay in touch with us through our (new) website and our new donation page for our emergency efforts. Karama will restart its cash-for-work program in November 2023 to support the households who have lost their source of income during the escalation.
Any donors who make a monthly donation to this page [A Safe Place for Kids in Deheishe Refugee Camp] will be automatically transferrred to the new fundraising page.
Many thanks for your support!
Warmly, the whole Karama team.
