NEWS FROM ERITREA: UPDATE!
In compliance with the World Health Organization recent data, Eritrea has not started vaccinating against COVID-19. Nowadays, Eritrea is the only country in the whole continent in this situation. It must be considered that Eritrea daily deals with a feckless National Health service, for this reason due to Coronavirus spread the country’s healthcare system is totally inefficient now. Our local referents report us that many people die in remote villages and the situation is worrying!
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic the real number of cases is undefined. According to WHO data until nowadays there have been 8.910 confirmed cases and 87 deaths. The life condition of the population who was already vulnerable can only get worse. We need your support!
Our project A gift for life: a sheep for a family in Eritrea guarantee milk everyday for children and it allows mothers to support family’s cost and the expense for children education. This project totally embraces our cause by promoting women empowerment and children education and protection. It also allows the support of family’s healthcare and it encourages the education and development of children, women and young people in need.
Your contribution will guarantee at least 3 sheep for each family as a daily source of milk for children.
From the last report thanks to all the donations received up for now we have collected 763 USD$ which allowed the purchase of 8 sheep. Thanks to you and GlobalGiving our project from the beginning up to now has permitted the purchase of 92 sheep.
Despite the difficulties our local referents keep working to support women and children to make Eritrea a safe place to grow up in.
We hope you will keep supporting us in our cause!
