Dear supporters,
The fundraising campaign for the A to Z of Teaching STEM project is now complete. We are pleased to announce that we were able to raise over €48,000. Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting the project!
The campaign was supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development via their Community Initiative. This is possible thanks to our true supporter Nguyen Le, his colleagues at EBRD, and the fact that so many individual donors have been reached. We wanted to thank you for taking part in this campaign. People from all over the world participated with individual donations.
We are very thankful to our supporters who organized their own fundraising initiatives and events in support of our campaign and in an attempt to get even more people involved. Many people demonstrated strong commitment and showed their support. We are very appreciative of this!
Why is this important?
As you know, there is an effort to build and equip specialised STEM centers in all schools across Bulgaria. While this is an important step towards improving students' understanding, simply investing in the physical space is not enough if it's not then used to its full potential. The integrated and multidisciplinary approach that the dedicated STEM centers are environments for is not very familiar to a majority of Bulgarian educators.
This is why over the coming months, the team at prepodavame.bg - our digital platform for high-quality learning resources and professional development for educators - will work on developing the learning materials and ready-to-use lesson plans that teachers can apply in classrooms across Bulgaria. Following that, we will provide training for 500 STEM teachers on incorporating the student-centric approach in their teaching.
With this project, we aim to support teachers in developing key skills in their students that STEM education is best at developing - inquiring, hypothesizing, testing, collecting and analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.
We will send you reports via GlobalGiving every three months to keep you updated on the project's progress.
Thank you once again for supporting Teach For Bulgaria and our mission to bring quality education to every child in Bulgaria.
Gratefully,
The Teach For Bulgaria team
