Our Coaches and Players have been taking a break for the past few weeks to enjoy The Holidays. We are currently holding registration, and practice will resume at the end of January. The focus this year will be on expanding the program to several other communities in Abaco. We hope to have four teams in each division that can can compete against each other during the regular season. The divisions consist of a Junior and Senior Boys Baseball Team and a Junior and Senior Girls Softball Team, as well as t-ball for the younger players.
We have been fortunate to receive several equipment donations which is extremely helpful to insure that each team has the basics needed to practice and play. We are still in need of additonal funding for backstops, uniforms, and vehicles for transporation. Abaco Youth Baseball will be holding their Second Annual Kevin Murray Fun Run Fundraising Event this Spring. Stay tuned for more details about this fun and family-oriented event.
We were also very fortunate to have a visit from Several Coaches from The Rising Stars Softball League in Grand Bahama. One of the coaches who specializes in pitching was able to work one on one with the up and coming pitchers in Abaco. Special thanks to Coach Murray and Coach Murray-Knowels for making this possible and to the coaches that traveled to assit our players.
Thank you to all of you who have supported Abaco Strong and Abaco Youth Baseball on this amazing journey. Wishing you many blessings in 2023!
