It's a joy to introduce you to Alana at our Diaper Drop Sarah's Covenant Homes in India. Through your generosity, we're able to provide Sarah's Covenant Homes (SCH) with diapers for all ages of persons with special needs.
Alana came into SCH's care in November of 2014 because the government orphanage she was living in could not properly take care of her specific needs. It took Alana about a week to warm up when she arrived at SCH. She was very fearful and shy. Slowly she began opening up and now she is often smiling and interacting with others. Alana has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal. She has no cognitive delay and can respond by nodding or using some hand movements. Alana is a bright, intelligent young lady who communicates much through her eyes and facial expressions.
Alana is doing really well in Jubilee Home. Alana is very smart and is enjoying our onsite special education classes. She communicates through gestures and pointing at what she wants and feeds herself when food is placed in her hand. She is working on fine motor skills with things like giant beads puzzles and blocks. She loves to play on the trampoline and enjoy hammocks and swings. She can go from lying down to sitting on her own, can go up and down stairs independently, and moves by scooting around.
Everyday her loving caregivers are blown away by this smart girl and her sweet presence, and consider themselves truly blessed to know her. She is full of life, love, and happiness!
Thanks for helping Alana and other children like her!
