Our partners at Sarah's Covenant Home in India provide amazing care to children with disabilities. These children are often abandoned because of social stigmas surrounding disability. When this happens, they are placed at government-run orphanages.
"Often times these orphanages are overrun, under-staffed and under-funded, making the child susceptible to neglect or abuse," SCH writes. "We work with the local government to bring children out of the government orphanages and into our care homes where they can receive the quality medical, emotional and spiritual care they deserve in a loving family-style setting."
The group is eagerly awaiting for Nicky to come back, after a string of children from the organization hospitalized with various infections.
"We wanted to share some good news — after 8 days in the hospital battling an infection, Jeff is home!
Courage Home, the home of Jeff & the other young men (Nicky & Aaron) who have been hospitalized recently, rejoices in having their boy home.
It’s not easy having a child in the hospital. It’s not easy being admitted into the hospital. There is so much unknown, fear, & loneliness.
We are so thankful our guy is home - but we know we won’t be able to breathe fully until Nicky is home, too.
As we have mentioned previously Nicky is still in the hospital. He is currently stable but experiencing some unforeseen complications.
Nicky is ready to be home. We’re ready to have him home."
Jake's Network of Hope partners with SCH to provide special needs cloth diapers for its children.
