Since the early 1990's, shortly after communism fell in Albania, ABC Health Foundation has conducted medical outreaches to give care to rural communities, and especially helping those on the margins of society, including the poor, infirmed, and elderly. This work is mainly done in cooperation with local churches throughout the country so that the church members can follow-up with each patient to ensure that they are able to get medication, see a specialist, or have their other needs met.
First the patient registers and then our nursing team takes vitals and initial information. Depending on what type of problem that they are having, patients are then seen by a doctor for general medical needs or by a physical therapist. Each patient is given a diagnosis and recommended next steps. All Medical Outreach visits are offered to the patient free of charge.
ABC Health Foundation currently does one to two Medical Outreaches each month during the Fall and Spring seasons. This has been a great way for us to care for many thousands of least-reached patients in every area of Albania.
Would you consider a financial gift to ABC Health Foundation so that we can continue caring for these marginalized patients who are in dire situations?
Thank you for your continued support.
