On World TB Day, March 24, we'll host a Campus TB Awareness Meet & Greet at Abuja University to educate students about tuberculosis. TB affects millions worldwide, causing illness, stigma, and economic strain. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and educational materials, this project raises awareness, encourages early detection, and empowers students to become advocates for TB prevention in their communities.
Tuberculosis remains a leading global killer, with over 10 million annual cases. Students and young adults often lack awareness, and stigma prevents timely diagnosis and treatment. TB's social, health, and economic consequences affect families and communities, perpetuating poverty and illness. Immediate education and prevention are crucial to protect vulnerable campus populations and reduce the spread of this deadly disease.
The Abuja University TB Awareness Meet & Greet provides students with knowledge about TB causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment. Interactive sessions, expert talks, and screening booths empower participants to act, reduce stigma, and seek timely care. By equipping students with awareness and advocacy skills, the project fosters a culture of health-conscious behavior and strengthens community efforts to prevent TB.
