Dear friends,
Warm greetings from educate. It is a pleasure to share this update with you, highlighting the work and impact we have achieved together in the lives of children and young people in Honduras over the past months.
At educate., we strongly believe in the transformative power of education. Our mission is to empower children and youth in Honduras through community-based initiatives focused on education. In February, our scholarship award ceremony once again reminded us of the powerful difference this support makes.
In the mountains of Honduras, where many families struggle each day to meet their basic needs, continuing education beyond primary school remains a difficult dream for many young people. But thanks to your support, 45 students are writing a different story for their lives.
In 2026, educate.’s Holistic Scholarship Program is supporting 45 students from three rural municipalities. Of these, 39 are enrolled in secondary school and 6 have made it to university, becoming powerful examples of perseverance for their families and communities, as well as for our younger scholars who see them as role models.
Most of these students come from families whose incomes fall below the Honduran minimum wage. For many households, paying for transportation, school supplies, or tuition can mean having to choose between continuing school or dropping out. Additionally, more than 60% of our scholarship recipients are girls and young women, who often face additional barriers due to gender inequalities that persist in many rural communities.
“The good thing about educate. is that they support us emotionally and psychologically,” says Yeyson, a scholarship student in high school. “It makes us better people, and allows us to become leaders in our communities. Because of that, I’m very happy to be part of educate.”
“For me, having my daughter be part of educate. is a huge support,” expressed the mother of another student, “because it allows us to send her to study here at the Juan Lindo high school. She comes from Chinda, and with the scholarship we pay for her transportation. It’s a great blessing for us because it allows her to study. She’s very intelligent, too – she earned this scholarship with great pride!“
Thanks to your generosity, these young people are not only continuing their studies – they are also building dreams, developing leadership skills, and preparing to transform the futures of their families and communities.
Each scholarship represents an open door, a life-changing opportunity, and a community beginning to believe in new possibilities. Thank you for being part of this transformation.
With gratitude,
Natalia Anariba
