Water scarcity already threatens millions, especially in Somalia, South Sudan, Madagascar, Syria, Gaza and Yemen. PAH drills wells, builds toilets, distributes hygiene kits and provides safe water in schools and displacement camps, helping families keep water clean. Today 2 billion people lack access to safe water - a basic human right. Support our work and help bring clean water to those who need it most. Your donation directly funds life-saving access for vulnerable communities.
Water scarcity is a growing global crisis affecting every continent, with severe impact in regions such as Somalia, South Sudan, Madagascar, Syria and Gaza. Already 2 billion people lack access to clean water, despite it being a fundamental human right, and by 2050 three out of four people may face drought. The problem stems from limited natural resources, underdeveloped infrastructure, pollution, armed conflicts, mismanagement of water systems and the accelerating effects of climate change.
To provide access to safe water and ensure sanitary safety, among other things, we supply safe drinking water (we build and repair wells and other water tanks, we deliver water with tanker lorries), build and renovate toilets and bathrooms (in schools and at IDP camps), help families keep their water supplies and households clean (sanitary training, hygiene kits, water purification tablets), maintain good sanitary conditions at camps (we remove waste and rubbish, we distribute dustbins).
In the long term, the project will strengthen community resilience by training local residents in well repair, water quality testing and hygiene education, enabling them to respond independently to water and sanitation challenges. It will improve health through access to safe drinking water and sanitation, reduce disease risks, and support children's learning by ensuring safe and hygienic school conditions.
