Old houses not only suffer from exposed concrete, aging pipes, leaks, wall cancer, and mold that threaten health, but the lack of accessible facilities—steps at doorways and corridors without handrails—makes people with disabilities and the elderly feel isolated, as if stranded on an island.
In a remote village, Ah-Yi, who uses a wheelchair due to physical disabilities and suffers from cataracts and multiple chronic illnesses, lived for years in a tin-and-wood house without a bathroom. After an amputation, basic hygiene became his greatest challenge.
With the help of friends, Ah-Yi applied for Eden’s home repair service. The team built a simple shower area, installed a toilet, and added handrails according to his needs. Now, Ah-Yi’s daily life has improved, restoring both safety and dignity.
