Amid the ongoing crisis, COOPI, with your vital support has provided agricultural seeds and clean drinking water to over 50,000 displaced people in Mellit, an area currently classified as being in a famine situation.
Access to safe drinking water has significantly reduced health risks, especially among children, who are now less vulnerable to diarrhea and life-threatening diseases like cholera. Meanwhile, the distribution of seeds and tools has enabled displaced families to grow crops, helping them regain some financial stability. Some, after receiving support, successfully harvested watermelons, generating income to cover essential needs such as food, healthcare and education.
Our efforts focus on three key areas: food security and agricultural support, nutrition, and access to clean water and sanitation. Despite the challenges of reaching Mellit, aid efforts continue to support both displaced populations and host communities struggling with the ongoing conflict and famine.
Since 2004, COOPI has provided vital assistance to over 4 million people in Sudan, addressing food security, water access, disaster response, and economic recovery for the most vulnerable. However, the need remains urgent. With your support, we can continue delivering life-saving aid to those who need it most. Thank you for standing with us.
