CIDI: A Space of Growth, Learning and Hope

By Natalia Latorre | Coordinadora de comunicaciones

So thus far in 2024, at the Integrated Child Development Centre (CIDI by its Spanish acronym), a space designed to provide quality care and education for children in their earliest stages of life. From day one, changes have been created in their process of adaptation and acceptance of this new experience.

The first phase was the Adaptation Process, a crucial period dedicated to laying the foundations for an environment conducive to children's learning and development. In this regard, a series of measures were implemented to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for children entering CIDI for the first time.

One of the most important aspects was the creation of a strong socio-affective relationship between the children and the team of CIDI Assistants, who played a fundamental role in the care and individualised attention of each child. From the moment of their arrival, the children were received with warmth, providing them with the emotional security necessary to explore and learn in this new environment.

In addition, special attention was paid to reception and departure times, ensuring that mothers were informed about the course of their children's day and offering support and guidance at each stage of the adaptation process. This holistic approach not only benefited the children, but also provided reassurance and confidence to the families during this transitional period.

Free and spontaneous play has been a powerful tool to encourage exploration, creativity and the development of social skills in children. Through play, the children were able to experiment and learn in an active way, acquiring eating, hygiene and sleeping habits in a natural and fun way.

Last but not least, we would like to express our deep gratitude to all the donors and collaborators who made the creation and implementation of CIDI possible. Thanks to your generosity and commitment, we have been able to offer a safe and stimulating space for the growth and development of our children, laying the foundations for a bright and promising future. Your continued support is essential to continue building a better world for generations to come.
