Welcome to No. 1 Car Shop!
While seemingly ordinary, this Ghanaian car garage represents an extraordinary opportunity for Kofi, a former victim of trafficking who has been supported in his reintegration.
Before being trafficked, Kofi had not received any formal education, and today only speaks his local dialect, Ewe. After the rescue, Kofi was enrolled in a vocational school a started an apprenticeship.
He has been working at No. 1 Car Shop since, with the dream of one day becoming a mechanic and ensure a livelihood for himself and his future family.
Determined and hardworking, Kofi has one problem - he does not own any tools that he can work with at the car garage, and has had to borrow tools from his teacher and other apprentices to fulfill his apprenticeship.
Through generous donors such as yourself, young people such as Kofi are provided with the tools to build sustainable livelihoods!
As Kofi would say, ‘Akpe na mi’ - meaning ‘Thank you’, in Ewe.
