Giving vulnerable children in Nepal an education

Look where you are now!

Where would you be if you hadn’t had the opportunity to go to school when you were a child? I know that I just took it for granted, but for many kids in Nepal they will only have this opportunity with our help and support. Your gifts make an amazing difference, you give kids the opportunity that I took for granted; and in doing so you give them a future. Week by week we witness the delightful milestones as these kids enjoy the benefits of being at school. Alina, Chahat, Yashoda and Kismat are doing their grade 8 final exam, thanks to your support they are heading for a bright future. 

Ensuring vulnerable children have access to quality education is at the core of our mission; its what we do, and with your support we give these children the opportunity that all children deserve and delight in.

And Look where your generosity is taking these ‘children’…

Roshme is a first-year bachelor student studying for her degree, her day starts at 5am; she’s also working as an accountant/receptionist and helps her mother cooking dinner, and paying the rent as mum has health issues. Roshme’s story is an inspiring one, and it shows how our gifts create wonderful opportunities that make a family of difference.

From Kindy to University we share in the milestones of these children’s lives. And they seem to soak up the challenges and grow brighter all the time.

Together we make a difference, Little By Little….

Seeing that we can make a difference is always inspiring, for little by little we change the world, and these children will in turn take their place in bringing about change for others.

Please remember that our GolbalGiving Little X Little campaign runs from April 8^th to April 13^th and every donation of US$50 or less will get a 50% bonus, so $50m becomes $75. If you can make an extra small gift during the campaign then it will make a big difference to all of us.

Single mums deserve all the support we can give them…

We are currently able to support 14 single mums, these women who have been left to look after their children are hard working and living in very basic conditions, yet they keep on pushing onwards for the benefit of their children.

We provide them with groceries to relive some of the financial pressure, we ensure their children’s education is looked after, and we’re looking at small business opportunities to give them a firmer financial foundation. 

       At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It’s about what you’ve              done with those accomplishments. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what                                                                                       you’ve given back.

IGWR has no overhead expenses, your giving goes directly to our work in Nepal. IGWR is managed by volunteers and that includes underwriting all the usual overhead expenses such as computer costs, web-site maintenance and accounting services; all these expenses are supported by the volunteers and committee members that help keep the operations working.

We are on track to meet our 2023-24 budget which is around $123, 820, and that is always a relief. However, if we are to do more, and if we want to really change the situations many single-mum families are in, then we will need to build our support base and attract new regular sponsors.

We encourage you to share the story of why you give, tell your friends, and maybe form a group that will regularly donate a small amount that you can pool together. Certainly, every gift makes a difference, and we just want to do more.
