Dear family of Aid Afghanistan for EducationI like to share with you that our office and the accelerated education program, which we successfully implemented for the past twenty years, with much result and joyous moments, had to close due the Taliban ban on secondary education for girls and women.

These two short videos are samples of what we achieved with your support over the years:

However, our work continues.  Realizing that Afghanistan has the highest illiteracy rate in the world, we are aiming to promote education through the grassroot and to reach out to the most disadvantaged children, girls, and boys.  To start, we identified 20 street-working children who were collecting bottles from garbage, selling plastic bags, selling pens…etc.  These children have been enrolled in a private school in Kabul. Here is their first day in school: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85qF92rA45Y

This is one of the best educations in Afghanistan.  These children are learning English from the first grade.  They are learning 80% Cambridge curriculum and 20% government.  We will be watching these students very closely. They receive uniform, books, stationary, lunch and transport to and from their homes.  After lunch, they will receive assistance with their homework before going home.

We are looking to create a program so that each child can share what they learn in school with other members of the family.  Slowey and soon we will be the witness of a huge social change. We are looking to expand this program as well as developing other innovative projects to educate girls, who are not allowed to continue their education.

Eliminating illiteracy in Afghanistan may sound like an impossible task but together, with patience, we can achieve it.  I extend my deepest appreciation for your support with our accelerated education program, and I ask you to continue your generous support for these children.  Report of their progress will be shared frequently.

With much gratitude and appreciation
