So much has happened in Aid Afghanistan for Education's world since our last project report and we are so excited to be able to share so much good news with you, our incredible donors!
Just in the last few weeks, AAE has earned "Superstar" status with GlobalGiving, meaning we are eligible for corporate partnerships and could be featured in GlobalGiving's social media. "Superstar" is the highest status an organization can have with GlobalGiving and we are so thankful for our amazing donors, you, for making that possible. Your dedication to fostering true peace in Afghanistan through education is inspiring.
We have two new exciting donation opportunities through GlobalGiving to share with you. The first is through The Safer World Fund, an organization started by families of victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack. This organization is dedicated to strengthening Afghanistan and is matching all donations to Aid Afghanistan for Education at 50%! There are still tens of thousands of dollars left in matching funds, so if you are inclined to donate, your donation will have 150% of the impact! Our second opportunity is brand new as of September 15th, 2014. We have added a microproject to fund the tuition of Hamida, an AAE graduate who is just 36 credits away from graduating with her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance from American University of Afghanistan. Up until now, Hamida's tuition has been paid for by a donor, but he had to back out due to a lack of funding. Her father earns just $200 a month as a baker, which is barely enough to feed his family, much less pay for Hamida's schooling. Hamida wants to improve Afghanistan by opening her own business to empower and educate women. Without your help, she might not graduate university. Here at Aid Afghanistan for Education, we are incredibly grateful for your continued support. Thank you for becoming a partner for peace and standing with Afghanistan when she needs you most.
