AID FOR 200 VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN TABORA TANZANIA

Introduction

We got the idea to raise money on the Global-Giving platform in order to address the problem of orphans being outside of school in the Tabora region due to poverty and lack care services. According to fhi360 show that 40 percent of orphans in Tabora region did not attend school at any time during 2010 school year.

Project goal on GlobalGiving

Our goal is to raise USD 25,000 on the GlobalGiving platform through fundraising advocacy, email posting, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and gifts within 12 months.

Objectives

1. Providing school needs such as uniforms, shoes, backpacks, exercise books, rulers, pencils, and bicycles for poor children, paying health insurance for children at risk in school,
2. Building the capacity of students, parents, and teachers on guidance and counseling to address emotional and social challenges and to encourage parental involvement in their children's education through training sessions.
3. Strengthening school children clubs to empower vulnerable children to become active participants in their own education & development.
   
   Results

• The project has succeeded in raising $1,477.
• The project has succeeded in providing uniforms and exercise books to 30 school children.
• The project has succeeded in providing pends to 30 girls from primary and secondary schools.
• The project has succeeded in providing underwear to 18 boys from primary and secondary schools.

Project long-term impacts

Children are protected, have access to education, quality services for essential needs, and have access to medical services, and psychological counseling. And we have a society that protects and cares for orphan vulnerable Children. As the World Bank pointed that the best child is the one whose is safe, well-developed and protected from risks.

•  Lack of monthly contributions.
•  Lack of friends and donors from USA and UK help me to raise money
•  Lack of volunteers from the USA and UK to raise money for our project or organization.
•  Lack of staff from the USA or UK to help spread the message to donors

Opportunities

• We have the opportunity to be on the Global-Giving platform that helps us meet friends, project leaders, volunteers, donors, Companies and organizations and help us raise funds.
• We have the opportunity to use social media for fundraising
• We have the opportunity to participate in deferent events of fundraising.
• We have the opportunity to be in the Pathway to Global-Giving group where we can meet with project leaders, Partners, and organizations that may give us advise and support us.
