A Quarter of the Way There!

The Joy of Reintegration
The Joy of Reintegration

Thanks to all of your wonderful donations, we have been able to make great strides in the past three months! The bulk of our work has been preparing to reintegrate the 20 women we had already targeted. This has meant lots of meetings with the women, their families, and the community leaders of the eventual communities. We've been ensuring they will have proper accommodation, their purification rituals are prepared, and that their family has adequate information and assistance to ensure the safety of the reintegrated women.

Of the 20 we are working to reintegrate, we have been able to clear five to return home already! We've already paid for their purification fees and they will be transported to their new homes very soon! They will also be receiving some small fund to begin supporting themselves and gain income once they arrive home.

We've also made good progress with three other women who are ready to go home and whose families are ready to receive them! We are confident we will have them safe and comfortable in their new homes by the end of June.

We are still working to safely reintegrate the rest of the women. The process may be a bit slow since many women are afraid to return home, those who are widows are having difficulty living without their husbands, and some with children who have been married are reluctant to leave their husbands and families.

Despite these difficulties, we are confident that because of all of your financial and moral support, we will be able to get all 20 women into safe, comfortable homes very soon!
