The Ndeipi! sessions resumed on Monday 13th September with eager participants wanting to learn more from the workshop after almost 4 months of lockdown. This had forced Makomborero to suspend all gatherings in compliance with Covid19 lockdown regulations.
We were so excited to hold the workshop at the UZ (University of Zimbabwe) Residence, with everyone observing Covid19 protocols with participants hand sanitising, social distancing and wearing face masks throughout the session.
As always, we heard inspiring testimonies from all participants, the major highlight being the selling of baby clothes. The clothes had been donated by a generous Makomborero supporter and were given as a capital injection into the participants' projects.
They were so thrilled at how fast the baby clothes sold out. One participant sold all her baby clothes in the combi on her way home! By the time she got home, all the baby clothes were gone. This is exciting because they can now inject more capital into their businesses. One participant has now raised $6 from the clothes pack.
Here’s a testimony from one of the participants.
“The Monday meeting was one of the memorable ones. Lessons were conducted by Pastor Chris, presentations for project proposals were done.
Later after lessons, we were blessed with packs of porridge in a plastic bag and very good second hand clothes for toddlers to resell. Honestly speaking, they are selling like hot cakes. I was so excited with these presents and I felt uplifted by the encouragement and support. Thanks to Makomborero family and the entire team. Stay blessed”.
Our last session will be on 1st November before all the participants graduate in December at the Makomborero Zimbabwe Annual Graduation.
We cannot wait to hear more inspiring testimonies.
