Rambunctious Ramit for the Win!

By Cathy Clifton | Administrator

Ramit has been at Ama Ghar since he was six years old, and he's always been an amazing natural athlete. Some people are just physically gifted, and Ramit is one of them. We used to call him "Rambunctious Ramit" because even within his scrum of healthy, active and athletic Ama Ghar brothers, his energy reigned supreme. He is now in Class Six and his latest highlight came during the regional school football championships - soccer to those of us in the U.S. - where he scored the winning goal and was pictured holding the trophy in their victory photo, shown below.

We have a hard time keeping up with him in so many ways, as he can do it all - sports, music, art and school. A boy with this much talent is a challenge as we guide him into his future. He is a smart and observant boy with a very tender, sensitive side. He interacts well with his Ama Ghar family as well as his friends from school - we expect a lot from him. He is often chosen to represent the group when visitors arrive - most recently when visitors arrived with a donation of books for our Ama Ghar library, in English and Nepali - he is shown in the photograph above with the donor, Anita Adhikari.

What a well-rounded life for a young boy! He has sports coaching, a soccer field and a built-in team of brothers to practice with, good teachers and mentors, music lessons... but he would not have any of this without the support that he receives from you. Thanks to you, he is well on his way to becoming a successful and productive citizen of Nepal... and the world. That is a huge win for all of us!
