An Affirming Home for Every LGBTQ Kid

At Mama Dragons, we believe that every LGBTQ+ child deserves the same thing: a home where they are safe, loved, and affirmed. That belief drives everything we do—and it’s why your support matters.

Family rejection is one of the leading causes of LGBTQ+ youth homelessness. According to national data, up to 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+, often pushed out or forced to leave because of who they are.

Our response? Empower the people who have the greatest power to change that reality: parents.

Since our founding, Mama Dragons has supported more than 25,000 mothers of LGBTQ+ children through peer support, trauma-informed education, and advocacy training. In this past year alone, we’ve made significant changes to prioritize the safety and belonging of our members—including the launch of our private online network, where mothers can connect, ask hard questions, and speak openly about the things that matter most, without fear or judgment.

At the same time, we’re actively growing. Through our National Outreach Project, we are building partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations, churches, schools, and mental health providers across the country to reach new mothers in this moment—especially those in rural or conservative communities who feel alone and afraid to ask for help. We’re meeting them where they are, and helping them become the affirming parents their children need.
