After nearly three years, Bill S-203 has cleared the Senate!
In a surprise vote last night, Bill S-203, the Ending the Captivity of Whales and Dolphin Act, passed out of the Senate and will now move into the House of Commons.
The Bill cleared the Senate with no exclusions, meaning that the Vancouver Aquarium and Marineland, the only two facilities with captive cetaceans in Canada, will not be exempt from the legislation.
If passed in the House, this Bill would ban the import, export, public display, live capture and captive breeding of whales, dolphins and porpoises in Canada.
Tell your MP now and ask them to vigorously support this important Bill in the House of Commons!
